History

The Kaunertaler Gletscherbahnen operate two ski regions: The Kaunertal Glacier and the Bergbahnen Fendels.

After 18 months of construction work, Kaunertal glacier – the fourth of five glacier ski regions in Tyrol – was opened on August 9, 1980.

In 1991, the Bergbahnen Fendels, which were first developed with the opening of the Hammer lift in 1966, became part of the company.
