The Kaunertal glacier is still a secret spot for freeriders. Wide ridges, endless powder and untracked lines are waiting for the powder junkies. Personal responsibility and experience have a lot to do with the topic of freeriding, but combination skiing has become very popular.

Risk & Fun and the Kaunertaler Gletscherbahnen have developed the `check your line` freeride concept. It accompanies the freerider on the Weisseejoch.

Is there any better place to meet a freerider than on the mountain in the powder? This is where the project concept began.
 
At first glance, the idea is very simple:

There are four notice boards on the free riders`route, placed from the moment they get on the lift to the end of their run, convering 682m in altitude from the Kaunertal glacier to the area beyond the glacier. The notice boards are designed to actively accompany the decision process in each separate phase and to invite critical questions about each situation. Crucial questions invite skiers and snowboarders to think about their actions and behaviour.

The information panels should assompany the decision process in respective phases and stimulate critical thinking about the respective situation.

The content guide

The division of content and graphics into the four categories `ME - GROUP - ALPINE - EQUIPMENT` sets the themes for to the design of all four panels. A striking feature is that the areas GROUP an ME have the same importance as ALPINE an EQUIPMENT. Communication in th group, the different phenomena in the group during the decision process and also individual sensitivities are given a decisive role.

The roots of this subdivision are based on the content sharing of the risk´n´fun training content in `soft`and `hard` skills and are now being used on the panels.

The telephone nummers for the avalanche warning service on every board emphasise the need for this information. Maps and a panoramic view of the slope facilitate the transfer studying the map to using the actual terrain. On site, it is possible to judge judge just how steep the terrain really is.
