Night tobogganing in Fendels
Get out into the cold once again in the evening and whiz warmly wrapped over the crunching snow: tobogganing at night has its very own charm. On selected days, the 4.5 km long toboggan run in Fendels is also open for you at night. Come by and experience a small, not quite everyday adventure while tobogganing at night on the illuminated track – gladly with the whole family!

To keep the night sports experience as pure and authentic as possible, we have purposely dispensed with all night shows. You can enjoy a fast-paced nighttime toboggan run with family or friends without any distractions. The natural toboggan run itself is perfectly prepared and well lit to ensure a safe descent.
Night tobogganing near Kaunertal: overview of the toboggan run Fendels
- Certificate of quality “Tiroler Naturrodelbahn” (Tyrolean natural toboggan run)
- 4.5 km long natural toboggan run: the medium difficult track leads from the mountain restaurant Sattelklause through the forest down to Fendels (maximum gradient 18%, average gradient 12%).
- Night tobogganing on selected Thursdays from 19:00 to 22:00 (December to February).
- Starting point at the mountain restaurant Sattelklause: reachable on foot or with the mountain railroads, cosy stop for refreshments possible (special operating times)
- Trail is lighted at night (floodlights)
- Ski & toboggan rental at the valley station of the mountain railroads
Opening hours of the toboggan run Fendels
The Fendels toboggan run is open daily throughout the winter season. Night tobogganing takes place on selected Thursdays from 19:00 to 22:00. On these days the cable cars, the mountain restaurant Sattelklause and the ski rental at the valley station are also in operation in the evening.
Note // The floodlights are switched off at 22:15. Please be aware that no one is allowed on the slopes after this time, as our Pistenbully team will start preparing the slopes for the next day!
Tobogganing in Fendels: Prices
Of course, you can walk to the starting point of the toboggan run. Then the ascent will only cost you physical effort. But it is also more comfortable to go up with the Sattelbodenbahn. Find out about the current prices for single rides right now:
Tobogganing at night is not the only highlight at Winterberg Fendels. For night-active winter vacationers who prefer to be on skis or snowboard, night skiing is a great option. The north run from Sattelboden to the bottom station of the chairlift is floodlit for night skiing. Both – night skiing and night tobogganing – take place on the same evenings.

Fancy a warming hut stop before the frosty skiing fun? On every ski & tobogganing evening, the Sattelklause mountain restaurant is open at the starting point of the Fendels toboggan run. Enjoy regional cuisine next to an open fire and then go sledding by floodlight: This is what the perfect end to a winter day looks like.

Ski and toboggan rental at the valley station Fendels
Not in the mood for tobogganing? No problem: The Sporthaus Schranz directly at the parking lot of the Fendels cable cars is open longer for night tobogganing and night skiing! Gentle beginner’s slopes, ski courses, child care and a snow park for the little ones – fun and variety are always provided here.
