100-year-old-ice!
There is something unique about walking through the glacier cave, feeling the glacier ice and watching the play of light in the different shades of blue. Here you can see ice that is at least 100 years old, which has flowed over the years from the Weißseeferner’s nutrient zone to the area of the glacier tongue.
