Our mountain restaurants: culinary delights at their best
Our mountain inns have one thing in common: they offer a wide selection of regional specialities. Whether hearty Kasspatzln, rustic Brettljause or tempting Kaiserschmarrn: A mountain restaurant on the Kaunertal Glacier & Fendels is sure to have a delicious dish for you!
All our restaurants on the mountain are open daily from 08:00 to 16:30 during the operating hours of the lifts in summer and winter. Plan your excursion into nature followed by a stop at one of our summit restaurants – you can find more detailed information including lift prices here:
Weißsee glacier restaurant at 2,750 m
At the end of the Kaunertal Scenic Road at an altitude of 2,750 metres, you will find the Weißsee glacier restaurant. A large sun terrace with comfortable deckchairs, a unique view of the surrounding glaciated mountains and an extensive selection of delicious regional dishes await you at this restaurant on the mountain.
Bar & Restaurant Ochsenalm
Located at the bottom station of the Ochsenalmbahn cable car, the Ochsenalm bar and self-service restaurant offers everything you need. After an unforgettable day of skiing, people like to meet up on the sun terrace of this mountain inn to enjoy a well-earned break before heading back down into the valley to Feichten.
ATTENTION // The Ochsenalm is only open in winter!
Café Seepanorama
The Seepanorama café and info point at 1,772 metres above sea level is located right at the start of the Gepatsch reservoir. On the first floor of the building is the mountain restaurant with terrace and wonderful views of the reservoir. Georg, the tenant, offers regional specialities freshly prepared every day as well as coffee, cake and ice cream.

Sattelklause mountain restaurant
The Sattelklause mountain restaurant is located at the top station of the Fendels chairlift. Delicious dishes from the region and a large selection of vegetarian dishes await you here. Depending on the weather, you can either relax in front of the open fire in the large parlour or enjoy the sun on the terrace.
Our philosophy for our mountain restaurants: honest and local cuisine
Enjoyment in the huts and restaurants on the Kaunertal Glacier means: rather less, but high quality and preferably everything from Tyrol. The menus in our restaurants on the mountain have been put together with a lot of care and thought so that there is something for all our guests.
We also play our part in the careful use of resources in every single mountain restaurant on the Kaunertal Glacier and in Fendels:
We focus on regional suppliers.
We buy almost all of our ingredients from local farms and Tyrolean companies. Our basic suppliers include Eurogast Grissemann and Grüner from Zams and Kröswang from Upper Austria. We source high-quality meat from butchers Wilhelm (Prutz) and Handl Tirol (Pians); (burger) bread from “Resch und Frisch” (Austria) and the Schranz bakery in Pitztal, as well as eggs and milk from regional farmers.
Our dishes are carefully prepared.
This ensures flavour, valuable vitamins and minerals are retained. New technologies for gentle cooking and cooking with steam and frying with less fat help here.
We offer selected vegetarian delicacies for all those who want to avoid eating meat.
We source crisp, fresh fruit and vegetables for our mountain restaurants from Winkler in Zams.
We do not use plastic.
There are no more PET bottles in our restaurants on the mountain. Our soft drinks from Tirol Limo (Landeck), Wille (Grins) and Hafele (Ried) as well as our glacier beer from Starkenberger (Starkenberg) are served on tap and in glass bottles.
We avoid products from the Nestlé group.
It is difficult to get an overview of the company’s corporate network, but our purchasing team has a list of products to avoid. When it comes to sweets, we offer high-quality alternatives from Austrian and German manufacturers. In our mountain restaurants, for example, we offer glacier chocolate from the company Haag (Landeck), which simply tastes irresistibly good.
We practise careful sorting of waste.
We have set up a waste separation system for our guests and employees in our mountain inns. Everyone can help to avoid waste on the mountain and separate it correctly.
We use Austrian cleaning products.
We use cleaning agents from the Austrian company Hollu to keep our mountain restaurants sparkling clean.
Fresh and homemade every day
The restaurants on the Kaunertal Glacier source many of the ingredients for their dishes from local farmers, bakers and butchers. The food is cooked with love according to traditional recipes and freshly prepared for you every day.
Baked with love
We are also proud of our cakes and pastries. Everything is homemade and served fresh on our cake buffet. A slice of cake, shortbread, muffins and more – enjoy your favourite dessert with a good cup of cappuccino.
We are nearly self-sufficient
Water and a canal system are needed to run a catering business at this altitude. The water does not come from the municipal water supply as usual, but from a deep well at 2,750 metres, which pumps the water from inside the mountain. The waste water is not drained through a local canal system, but is treated in our own fully biological sewage treatment plant. The solar system on the south front of the building heats 1/3 of the annual hot water requirement.
