It's never too late to enjoy skiing—here's how to get started again
For those returning to the sport, beginners, and children:
Kauni’s Glacier World, a spacious practice area with a magic carpet and a new sun lift, will open in the 2025/26 winter season. This will make it easier and more comfortable for children and adults to take up skiing and return to winter sports. The ski resort is responding to the growing demand for attractive offers for beginners and underlining its role as a diverse winter sports area for all skill levels.
In recent years, many ski resorts have reduced the number of easy practice lifts on offer. We are deliberately taking the opposite approach. Our goal is to make skiing accessible to everyone and to offer beginners in particular a positive experience.
The new sun lift from NOV 2025
The new sun lift with central exit provides access to a spacious practice area right next to the glacier restaurant. With a magic carpet and beginner’s lift, the flat area offers ideal conditions for children, families, and those returning to skiing—from their first attempts at gliding to confident turns on gentle slopes.
Once you have mastered your first turns and braking exercises, you can move on to the next section with slightly steeper slopes, accessible via the beginner lift to the mountain station or the Nörderlift. In the upper area, blue and red slopes are available for longer descents, accompanied by ski instructors or parents. Additional offers such as a fun slope and tubing track provide fun, games, and variety.

The new Family Ticket - Ticket change is allowed!
Family friendliness is a top priority at the Kaunertal Glacier. With small children in particular, it is often not possible for both parents to ski at the same time – one usually stays with the children while the other hits the slopes.
With the new Family Ticket, parents can now use their ski passes more flexibly: for a one-time partner fee of €15, both parents can take turns using the same ski pass. While one parent stays with the child, the other can go skiing, and then they switch later. This saves money and increases the quality of their time together.
