Avalanche Camp with the Kaunertal Mountain Guides

Two days to ensure your safety in winter terrain.

Winter is calling—and with it, the mountains, the snow, and unforgettable experiences. But anyone venturing off the beaten path should know what to do when it really counts.

At our Avalanche Camp in the Kaunertal, you’ll work with our experienced mountain guides from the Kaunertal to get to know your avalanche transceiver equipment thoroughly, learn how to use it safely, and deploy it effectively in an emergency.

Day 1 – Arrival, Getting to Know Each Other & Practice
November 28 | 10:00 a.m. | Gepatschhaus

We’ll start with a relaxed get-together as a group. Then we’ll begin with a short theory session before checking your gear together and starting the first practical exercises in the snow.

After all, safety comes not only from knowledge—but above all from practice, routine, and taking the right action at the decisive moment.

At the end of the first day, we’ll plan the second day’s backcountry activities together and tailor them to the group and current conditions.

Your base: the Gepatschhaus

To ensure a relaxed and smooth experience, we recommend that you stay overnight at the Gepatschhaus. That way, we can start the second day of camp together the next morning without any stress.

• Touring skis or splitboard with appropriate bindings

• Warm, functional clothing
• Extra or replacement thermal layer

Important: An avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel are mandatory for the course. The equipment must be complete and in working order.
